Cornelia Aust is a consultant to the management of the Salomon Ludwig Steinheim Institute for German-Jewish History at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She is a historian specializing in Jewish history of the Early Modern period and the 19th century in Central and Eastern Europe.
Her fields of research include Jewish social, economic and cultural history. In 2018, she published her book The Jewish Economic Elite: Making Modern Europe.
